Jay Blue – Lead Vocals, Guitar
If you have never heard Jay Blue, you are in a for a show. Jay performs with such a high level of energy from the first note to the last. His guitar prow less will draw you in and you will feel every riff. Jay has a vocal style and appeal all his own. His sound is a cross between an old smoker of two packs a day and a gritty sounding person in a juke joint intent on getting his point across. Listening to a few of the more popular songs on the CD, “Lost”, such as “Don’t Turn Around“, “Lost“, and “Count Your Blessings“, you’ll clearly hear and see such raw emotion, feeling, in a performance of gut wrenching exhibition of guitar licks, raw vocals, and a stage prowless all his own. Live, Jay’s performances go from deep, soulful, blue’s, to an explosion of guitar riffs and vocals that will blow you from your seat and make you think as if you were who the songs was written about.
Jay was first introduced to the blues by a CD called “The Healer” by John Lee Hooker. With that seed already planted, but still not playing, Jay met a friend, who played guitar, and encouraged Jay to do it. After months, Jay gave it a shot. After learning a few basic chords, Jay grabbed the guitar, ran with it, and never looked back.
Jay brings a version of Blues/Rock to audiences and has created a new appreciation for it. Having the influences of Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Albert Collins, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray Band, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Luther Allison, B.B. King, Shannon Curfamn, Shameka Copeland, Johnny copeland, Tony Z, John Lee Hooker, Marc Broussard, John Bonamassa, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray Band, Allman Brothers, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and one of his biggest, Stevie Wonder’s in his music, Jay reaches an audiences’ emotions, and soul, and leaves them begging for more.
